Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? Hopefully you’ll find the answer below, if not — reach out to us!

What's the best way to RSVP? When is the RSVP deadline?

You can RSVP here on our wedding website, we kindly ask that you do so before or by July 20, 2023. We hope to see you there!

I can't attend the wedding in person. Will there be a virtual wedding celebration?

We’re so sorry you can’t make it. Your presence on our special day still means so much to us, we’re coordinating a livestream and will link out additional information on how to access it here! Please check back for the most up to date information here.

I will be in attendance, but can I also bring my kids?

Although we love your little ones, our wedding is an adults only event with the exception of the children in our wedding party. While we can accommodate children at our wedding ceremony, we are not able to invite them to our reception. We respectfully request this due to venue capacity. We hope you understand and we look forward to celebrating with you!

I will be in attendance, am I allowed to bring a plus one?

We’re so excited to share this moment with you, we’re incredibly grateful for your attendance. Kindly reference your invitation to understand how many seats we’ve reserved in your honor. If you have not been allotted a guest, we can assess on a case by case basis as RSVPs begin to roll in. We hope you understand! If you have any questions about this, please reach out to us via text/phone call Matthew (347-563-6461) or Denise (347-545-1912) or via email (loscroaks2023@gmail.com

Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?

The short answer- kind of! Please visit our travel tab for more information. We want to make sure we’re providing everyone with a plethora of options that cater to varying tastes and budgets, while also blocking an accurate amount of rooms. We’ve pulled rates for a few hotels in the area and you can review base rates to make your selections and secure a room, once we have a better idea of needs for each hotel, these rates will be renegotiated.

What will the weather be like?

The climate is enjoyable in Santo Domingo in October. Temperatures are expected to go up to 88°F with lows of 79°F please bring lots of sunscreen and sunglasses as we can expect a lot of sun! Because October is still considered hurricane season in the Dominican Republic, please continuously check the weather before packing your bags! While rain is less likely towards the end of the month it will still be humid, but rest assured, the evenings and nights you will enjoy a delicious breeze!

I'm visiting from out of town. What can I do while I'm in Santo Domingo?

We’re thrilled to welcome you (and welcome some of you back!) to the Dominican Republic. Please visit our activities page for more information on what to do, see, and eat while you’re in town.

Will there be any other events to attend during the wedding weekend?

Yes! We hope to have a welcome happy hour for everyone to gather and get to know each other prior to the official wedding festivities. Similarly, we will aim to organize an informal trip to the beach for those sticking around after the wedding too!

What time should I arrive at the ceremony? How do I get to the wedding ceremony and/or venue? Will transportation be provided?

Our ceremony will begin promptly at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, and we will provide shuttle services from the hotels starting at 2:45 o’clock in 15 minute intervals.

How will we be getting from the ceremony to the reception?

The church that the ceremony will take place in is a short walk across the street from our venue!

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

We do not recommend renting a car during your stay in Zona Colonial as there is very limited street parking. While there are parking garages available, we strongly suggest taking advantage of the shuttle buses provided so you don’t need to drive after the festivities! All the hotels are conveniently located within a 5-10 minute walk from all the main attractions we’d recommend.

What is the wedding dress code? Are there any colors or styles you'd prefer me to wear?

Our wedding dress code is Black-Tie. We ask that men wear a tuxedo or a dark suit and tie and women wear an evening gown or midi-length cocktail dress. Please be mindful that our ceremony will take place in a church and the reception will follow immediately after. While selecting your wedding attire, we kindly ask that you note our wedding colors: tawny brown, butterscotch, and martini green. In efforts to avoid matching with our bridal party, we ask that you refrain from wearing these colors, and while it goes without saying, we politely ask that you do not wear white.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

All will be indoors!

What type of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

In order to accommodate the large group joining us for our wedding festivities, our wedding dinner will be served buffet style which will include some elevated takes on our favorite Dominican foods. Come hungry! Our open bar will serve an array of favorite beers, liquors, and signature cocktails.

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What's the best way to let you know?

Please let us know so we can accommodate you! When you RSVP, you will be prompted to outline any dietary restrictions – if you forget to include, please feel free to contact us directly!

What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?

We still believe that COVID-19 is pervasive and out of an abundance of caution we ask that you take mindful precautions in the weeks leading up to the wedding (i.e. don’t go clubbing, wear a mask on the plane, etc.) We have several loved ones in attendance who are immunocompromised so please be mindful if you are experiencing any symptoms. We recommend everyone attending to pack an at-home test to take with you in the event that you do experience any symptoms.

In the unlikely chance that you test positive, we ask that you are honest and please do not participate in the festivities. We know this isn’t ideal and understand that traveling is a major financial investment but nothing is more valuable than the well-being of all of our guests and we ask that you take the appropriate time to recuperate and respect the health of other guests.

Do you have a wedding registry? Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

We feel truly blessed that we can count on your presence on our special day, we know it’s a real commitment and sacrifice to be here and we feel incredibly lucky. Should you be inclined to get us an additional gift, there will be a card box upon entrance at the venue.

We kindly ask that you do not travel with any larger gifts to Santo Domingo or bring these gifts to the wedding, please coordinate shipping directly to our apartment in Brooklyn, New York if applicable!

What's your wedding hashtag?

We will have lots of photo ops and we hope you’ll tag us on your socials using our wedding hashtag #LosCroaks!
